Renamed to Evelyn D. Ang — IBEHT
Renaming ceremony held August 8, 2024. Additional international patents received from South Korea and Vietnam for hand rehabilitation device.
Our mission is to pave the way in accelerating the development of biomedical devices and health technologies by providing state-of-the-art facilities and services to research universities and institutions — enabling them to transform their ideas into market-ready products.
Leading biomedical devices and health technologies translation and commercialization, moving beyond proof-of-concept toward clinical validation, regulatory readiness, deployment, and market adoption. Recognized internationally as an established go-to center for translational health research.
Our Role
One-Stop-Shop
A comprehensive platform for information and support infrastructure on biomedical devices and health technologies research, translation, and commercialization in the Philippines. EDA-IBEHT accelerates the product development process by providing the infrastructure and services required to bring technologies from the lab to the bedside and to the market — including specialized facilities, prototyping, testing and validation, clinical collaboration support, regulatory and standards guidance, IP protection, and commercialization enablement.
Lab-to-Market Roadmap
A structured pathway for R&D projects under the Philippine Harmonized National R&D Agenda in Health, particularly the National Unified Health Research Agenda (NUHRA). EDA-IBEHT strengthens biomedical devices and health technologies researchers through sharing of ideas, experience, and technical expertise — while systematically enabling preclinical and clinical validation pathways, quality and documentation readiness, technology transfer, scale-up planning, and real-world adoption.
Go-to-Center
A collaborative hub for researchers, scientists, clinicians, engineers, industry practitioners, and innovators that focus on research for biomedical devices and health technologies. EDA-IBEHT strengthens and expands thematic research centers including: Center for Medical Robotics, Center for Brain & Mental Health Research, Center for Movement Science & Occupational Safety Engineering, Center for Smart & Bio-inspired Materials, and Center for Biomedical Sciences & Health Technologies. It promotes collaborative, multi-department, interdisciplinary research projects and joint proposals — while building long-term partnerships that support clinical adoption, licensing, and enterprise creation.
